Kaimuki Master Plan
Background
The Kaimuki Master Plan Improvements project was part of the City and County of Honolulu’s revitalization effort to restore and enhance older neighborhoods and town centers. The major framework revolved around existing streets and sidewalk systems. It was essential that the improvements look attractive, be compatible with the character of Kaimuki Town, and feel appropriate to residents. In addition, consideration was given to the appeal to visitors and tourists who represent a potential source of economic revitalization.
